February and Valentine’s Day has many meanings, some good, some historical, but it has always been known as the month of love.  Love is a wonderful thing, not just for couples, but for families, relatives and friends.  Everyone needs to know how special they are, and my way to make people feel it is to show them with something that comes right from my heart and my hands.

Every piece of jewelry I make and every watercolor or tile I paint tells that the person who receives it “is” special.  My mother always taught me that, when a gift comes from the hand of the maker, it holds not only the love of the person who has chosen it to give but also the love of the maker.

From the beginning, I have made it my work to produce unique items that I connect with on a personal level.  “From my hands to yours” is a motto I live and work with to help you know that my hands have created something exceptional for you or a loved one so precious in your heart.

Come and spend time with me at Windy Point Vineyards in the Yakima Valley over the Presidents’ Day weekend, Saturday – Monday, February 16 – 18 for the annual “Red Wind and Chocolate” (I will most likely be there from Friday, February 15; please call Windy Point Vineyards at 509-877-6824 to verify).  I will look forward to offering you the finest my hands have to give.

Have you ever just been too tired, too busy, too stressed out, or just not in the mood to go to the mall…especially around Christmas?  Well, If you feel any of these things, I invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy shopping from your very own sofa or table. Let me take the tension out of the season so you have time to spend doing equally as important activities such as cooking, being with family, soaking in a hot tub, or just reading or watching TV.  The unique gifts I handcraft are not sold in department stores.  They are one of a kind pieces made from metal, gemstones, crystals, silver, gold, paper and paint.

My newest jewelry creations are vintage styles meant for old and young alike, and can be worn casually or for that special evening.  All stones, crystals and metal are chosen for the way they compliment each other in color, texture and style.  Best of all my pieces are priced so that anyone can enjoy them.

My watercolor and Chinese brush paintings are original numbered copies printed by the artist (me!) on traditional watercolor paper and paper made from bamboo and sugar cane. I create many different looks by carefully choosing matting that brings out the best color profiles.  My artwork is sold with or without frames in a wide variety of prices that fit anyone’s budget and living space.

If you’re not looking for artwork to hang but you see a piece you like and want to share, any of my watercolors can be made into greeting cards to send or frame, just let me know which one’s!

For those of you following my website, it’s been a year since it went live. Over the past year I’ve interacted with wonderful people, heard from visitors to my site, and learned many things from shoppers at events. With your suggestions, my work has matured.  I am excited to discover what comes my way in Year 2 on the web.

In the mean time,  join me at one of my upcoming events.  Although it’s nice to hear from you on my website, I truly cherish my personal interactions with you, sharing my passion for art, while celebrating the holidays.

Fall is a great time to create using the beautiful changing colors of the season. The greens and blues of summer are making way for gold, red, brown, orange and purple. With shorter days, I spend less time outside and more time working on new creations, yet to be revealed on my website.  While enhancing earthy gemstones, metal and wire in several fall articles, I continue to feature grape cluster designs in your favorite colors.

Fall is also the end of season for many fruits and vegetables, but for grapes, it’s the beginning of harvest and production on 2012 vintages, as I am pursuing my 2012 vintage collection with gemstones, crystals and natural brass, along with buttons, pearls and components reminiscent of a bygone era.

And don’t forget my original watercolor prints!  Similar to my jewelry, I am looking for snippets of quality time here and there to fit in my newest expression.

Speaking of fall fun, here are the two venues where you can see my work:

October 13, at Naches Heights Vineyard tasting room, I will personally be showing my work at their first annual “Art-i-Gras” from 11 am to 6 pm. Claar Cellars 16^th annual “Help Stomp Out Breast Cancer” grape stomp from 10 to 6 pm on Saturday-Sunday, October 13-14 as part of Wine Yakima Valley’s “Catch the Crush” weekend.  Although my work is regularly available to you at Claar Cellars, I will have some special designs in “pink” in honor of  breast cancer survivors, and those who have had loved ones with the disease.  I will be on hand for part of Sunday to meet people, offer more of my work for sale, and introduce you to my mother, a breast cancer survivor and continual fighter.  15% of sales from my pink jewelry this weekend will go towards “stomping out” breast cancer for good through my gift to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.  For more information, visit:

With a hint of fall in the air (my favorite season) comes a new line of jewelry.   I have necklaces made out of buttons from wood and organics to Victorian images and Southwest designs.  All of my new creations have there own unique flair, and are intertwined with gemstones, crystals and other beads using silver, antique brass and gold accents to fit every mood and season.  But alas, I have yet to get pictures of my new creations on my website, so for now you will have to come visit me this Labor Day weekend at Windy Point Vineyards in the Yakima Valley to see what new things I have to offer.
